In this latest tutorial, I'll demonstrate how to create another mobius style object, but this time with interlocking segments between each ring.  I'm sure many of you have seen this type of object before; it's a popular shape in the math modeling community, and appears all over the 3D printing world, as an aesthetically complex, and visually pleasing object.  In this video, I'm using 3dsmax 2012, and there are NO plugins or addons required to follow along.

Also, if you haven't already seen it, please be sure to check out my previous video on how to create a simple mobius strip using a more universal technique, which can be translated to any 3D modeling package:

Thanks again, and I hope you find these useful.  Please leave a comment, or feel free to post any questions you may have.  Enjoy.

That looks great, Lux.  Yeah, I've seen this done before in Topmod, Wings3d, and a few other "solid" modelling apps.  Haven't seen many people take it on in 3dsmax, so good job.

Out of curiosity, once you create all the teeth, or bridges, on the one object element, why couldn't you just use mirror modifier or mirror tool, to copy that in the opposite direction, then attach it to the first element.  In theory, this would save the trouble of having to go around and make all the teeth on the second element, wouldn't it?  Or would this not work in practice?  Just wondering.
