Are there any features or capabilities of the FireFly render engine that have not been implemented by SM? I was under the impression that FF was used by Cinema 4D and that that had a bunch more features.

C4D uses its own render engine (Or VRay et. al) not FireFly

they ain't enabled caustics nor transparency colour yet.

Firefly is based on the Reyes architecture, so in theory it could get a whole lot more fancy. But it needs someone to extend Firefly's current shader language; I've no idea who actually owns Firefly but, as the addition of IDL and SSS in recent years indicates, the Poser Dev team certainly have the technical ability to do that.
