Subject: How to get a texture to update

lululee ( ) posted Mon, 27 July 2015 at 1:50 PM · edited Wed, 03 April 2024 at 2:50 PM

Hi,

I am creating a new texture. I would like to have it update in both the render and the viewport.

Is there a way to do that?

Are you using the Photoshop bridge by chance? I think and I can be mistaken but using the bridge with Photoshop does update with the view port not to sure if it will update a render with out the render being re-rendered

Hi Lobo3233,

Thanks for your help.

   I'm not using the bridge.

I'll try that.

Control-i used to be the shortcut for that. I think it still works.

Occasionally I have some kind of glitch when I am trying to update the texture and it appears stuck with the older version. I have found that resaving the texture file from photoshop a second time will push through the refresh for some reason.

Like Razor points out saving and sometimes resaving does seem to work the one thing I have noticed when using bridge is if you are using 64bit Daz then you should also be using the 64bit version of Photoshop mixing 64 bit and 32 bit often freezes up or just outright crashes and if you had not saved work prone to loosing it so always make sure you save and often just a hint

Good Luck

Hmmm... I just saved the texture under a new name and loaded it for my purposes.  Hasn't bothered me enough to come up with another work-around.

Hi,

Thanks so much to everyone for your valuable help.

Saving twice seems to be working just super.

Have a great day.
