Hey all-

Just an update on my situation. I know alot of you kind of thought I was an "ass" and I guess my chronic pain I experience daily helped bring that out in me. I apologize over the past five years if I rubbed anyone the wrong way here in these forums.

I have discovered this past May what is causing my headaches.  Come to find out, it was a cyst in my jaw that was causing all that pain.  Needlessly suffering for 5 years on migraine medications I didn't even need - no wonder they didn't touch it - it wasn't migraines! (No MRI/Catscan saw it either????)

But anyway, getting back into developing for Poser again. I was just making sure of a few things.  I know vilters had tried to explain before what can be sold and what can't be with Poser.

Can you folks help explain to me what I can do for Character creation - I know we can sell our morphs we make in Zbrush - but for the internal stuff with Poser (dial morphs) that's what I'm confused about.

I plan on doing unique items now for Poser, wait until you see what I have in store for the community now that my headaches are getting better.

Hope we can all put what's in the past, the past, and forge ahead in the future. As I gain knowledge on Poser, I'll be sure to try to help - I never did either but always asked because, hey, why give wrong info, right?

Have a good day everyone and God Bless - (I have discovered religion again during these 5 years that I have been stuck in the house and truly see the power of it, don't mean to offend anyone by that.) It truly does feel good getting better and having two sides of my head feel the same again (no pain on one side all the time).  Have a good one all, and thanks again for any info you can help me out with.  I suck at Google and trying to find things that way - that's why I use these tools as well, too.  :)

Sadly my skill set is not that advanced that I can offer much help.

Welcome back to the Poser world and hopefully a world without pain, or at least the headaches.

I use Poser 13 on Windows 11 - For Scene set up I use a Geekcom A5 -  Ryzen 9 5900HX, with 64 gig ram and 3 TB  storage, mini PC with final rendering done on normal sized desktop using an AMD Ryzen Threadipper 1950X CPU, Corsair Hydro H100i CPU cooler, 3XS EVGA GTX 1080i SC with 11g Ram, 4 X 16gig Corsair DDR4 Ram and a Corsair RM 100 PSU .   The desktop is in a remote location with rendering done via Queue Manager which gives me a clearer desktop and quieter computer room.

You need to ask specific questions RT. How do I make an inj? How do I make an inj combining dial spun and custom without violating eula? .pmd or daz style readscript into existing community channels? Etc.

Glad to see you finally got things sorted out - chronic pain is a bit of a bastard (pardon my language) and could make even a saint curse

Character development is different according to which model base you are using. I learned the process for Daz models ... but I don't have access to my work machine ... and won't until it debugged ... there is a description over at Daz for their's I am not sure on the others. You can purchase guides with merchant resources as well. Good luck and welcome back.

Creating a redistributable morph target;

Append .obj with .txt extension, open in text editor, delete everything except the lines beginning with v, remove .txt extension, Properties: Load Morph Target.

The file is a record of vertex coordinates.

@Johnny
Good to see you back and in good health, but I hope your uptake of religion doesn't mean an end to those babes you're famous for around here :-)

EldritchCellar ( ) posted Tue, 28 July 2015 at 9:44 PM

RT's famous for Poser babes? Don't have a recollection of that. Oh yeah one other thing, the squished morph target described above will still violate proprietary morph data it's just a way to create a morph target that doesn't contain any facet data. For legally disributing proprietary morphs you need to create a file that calls on that data already existing in the figure.

Good luck.

 Not at all pumeco, I still have my "needs"!  LOL!  (There's always that side to us.... ;) )

Thanks Eldritch!  I have been wondering about the what able to sell and distribute part.  As I get closer to more releases, I'm sure I will have more questions, but thank you.  I will find out how to do so when ready.

@Primorge
Man, you haven't lived unless you've seen a 'Ragtop Johnny Special' Poser character!

They have breasts so large they defy all reasonable explanation and viability, in fact, you might even be forgiven for thinking they're bolt-ons!
Some said they were the creation of a madman, some said it's just wishful thinking on his part, but most just said ... WTF!

@Johnny
I hear you, man, and I'm glad to hear it :-P

If you need information on the gory details of Poser's inner workings....

Content Creation in Poser 5 by B.L. Render: Do not pass Go, do not collect 200 dollars, buy this book
now!  While it's listed in Amazon or Barnes & Noble, there are usually several copies on eBay for under 20
bucks. Get one. I can't say enough about it as it cleared up ALL of my CR2 questions. An invaluable resource
despite being for an older version of Poser. Think of it as a combination of the Torah, Koran, Bible and the
Bhagavad Gitafor Poser. Every CC I've talked to swears by this book.  She even details the rigging of
mechanical items including the rigging of a piston. The author is sadly, no longer active in the community but
will answer polite emails.

And since you brought up the point regarding religion, I spent many years fighting my way free of a childhood indoctrination into religion.  I've become a real, honest to goodness scientist (anthropology) at the ripe old age of 60 and can now see religion for the hocus pocus, mumbo jumbo that it is.  I trust we will all agree to not ever bring this subject up again.?

I'm not familiar with your previous work and am wondering what sort of things you intend on making.  I also have the desire to make stuff.  Along the way I'd like to document my progress and make a proper tutorial.

The book is called 'secrets of figure creation with Poser 5'. The author used to post on this forum as Bloodsong. Indeed it is a great book. It's a wee light on the various morph injection methods though, due to when it was written I guess.

Not the religious sort myself but I find religion and religious art interesting (well anything tinged with the supernatural really). Your above comment is flat out rude and a violation of TOS. It's also just another example of close minded intolerance.

 No problems all, no need for me to bring it up again - I understand,  believe me. But thank you everyone for your help. I really appreciate it, and look forward to getting into some of the more creative aspects with my character creating now.

 I intend to fully explore the creative realm and see how that can come about with it. Thanks everyone again for the help, and it's really awesome to get back into things.

Haven't been unfaithful to Rendo or anything like that, just been busy looking into iPad stuff.  I think you pretty much know how I feel about those devices, I've been doing a lot of research before buying.  But anyway, in the end I bought one, in fact it arrived the other day.  Won't go into it here, I have a question but I'll stick it in my iPad thread.
