Subject: Did I hit the wrong keys in navigation?

I'm UV mapping a dress and need to select lines on the back of the dress for seems. It sounds simple enough. Just rotate the camera around. But it's not that simple. I only get the camera so close and then it won't move. It doesn't truly lock up, it just becomes very sluggish in it's movements. I have to move the mouse across the screen several times to get any noticeable movement and I can back out of it. I'm sure I hit some wrong key combination, I'm very new at this. Can anyone guess what I might have done and how I can fix it? I really need to get closer to the dress so I can see what I'm doing. It's rather fine mesh in that spot.

I think you may have selected perspective view and you need orthographic - no idea offhand how you switch though

Switching between perspective to orthographic is simple just hitting the 5 key on the numpad will switch between the two views. It is hard to determine what else might be causing you the difficulty RedPhantom maybe a screen shot would help one us see what might be the issue since it is relatively easy to hit a key or button that has activated something that is causing you the issue

Hit the period key on the numpad. This will pull you up close and center rotation around the selection. Also I bet it will fix the sluggishness as well. I've had it happen to me and this usually fixes it. Don't know why it's just some of that old Blender voodoo.
