To our valued community members,
As we’re already into the first week of the new year, the Renderosity team wants to take a moment to wish everyone a safe and productive 2023! With a new year comes a fresh start to make your wildest dreams come true.
Though early January is typically reserved for setting new goals, we’ve chosen this period to announce the upcoming completion of a long term goal.
In just a few weeks, the Renderosity marketplace will be completely updated. This update is the result of a multi-year project dating back to 2016 when Renderosity’s parent company Bondware was selecting the next generation of web technology for its customer sites.
Renderosity members may not realize that much of the site has already been updated to this new technology platform. Over the course of the last year, features such as the galleries, forums, and even sitemail have been quietly overhauled.
The marketplace was the last major area to be updated. Special attention was given to the marketplace updates, as we know there’s been some aggravation with marketplace tools for both vendors and buyers.
We’ve taken community input to heart with these updates. Vendors should find a more streamlined experience in uploading products, participating in group sales, or using features in the vendor control room. Buyers will have an easier time managing purchases, as well as looking through their history or wishlist.
These updates were made to meet Renderosity’s overall goal of becoming the preferred digital art marketplace. This vision is one in which buyers can find the best products, and vendors can sell to the broadest possible market. To achieve this goal, we wanted to make Renderosity as attractive as possible for both current and new users.
The timing of the Renderosity marketplace update aligns nicely with the planned Q1 release of Poser 13. As many users are aware, Renderosity’s parent company Bondware acquired Poser in 2019 to offer customers both software and content to support their digital art creations. Just like with Renderosity, changes in the Poser software are also designed to bring out the best in the software.
From the beginning, Renderosity has been so much more than a marketplace. Before social media, the site was doing what major social media platforms used to do before succumbing to mission creep. It offered a space where people can exchange information and ideas and appreciate each other’s works.
Those original intentions of the site are precisely what we intend to honor. Despite the growth and improvement, Renderosity should feel similar to how it did 20 years ago. And thanks to responsible business practices, Renderosity’s growth doesn’t come with meddling from outside influences or a loss of its original intent.
Thanks for being with us. We look forward to serving you in the coming year.
