Magic Bumps in the Night
The Age of Magic is at its twilight. Magic fades from our world and seeps from the very pores and bones from what few magical creatures are left of our world. This image captures one of the last of the mystical Tree Ents. Their kind prefers their final resting to place to be by the sea. So, using the very last ounce of magical vitality left in its dwindling body, it stumbles and bumps in the night to reach the beach to await its end where his body will crumble apart onto the sand. So when you see driftwood on the beach, they may not have been wash in from the sea but are actually the remains of something magical.
A local artist in Victoria, B.C. Canada, created this sculpture. The body is of driftwood with eyes of river stone. I snapped the photo with my iPhone and messed around with it in Photoshop.
