I had to tweak it a lot to get it to fit my sculpt thou....
I added Ghostships textures to it, and the cap is hidden, completely transparent.

Poser 13 tends to make you try and push the limits, while for me at least and boy do I have limits.
I use Poser 13 on Windows 11 - For Scene set up I use a Geekcom A5 - Ryzen 9 5900HX, with 64 gig ram and 3 TB storage, mini PC with final rendering done on normal sized desktop using an AMD Ryzen Threadipper 1950X CPU, Corsair Hydro H100i CPU cooler, 3XS EVGA GTX 1080i SC with 11g Ram, 4 X 16gig Corsair DDR4 Ram and a Corsair RM 100 PSU . The desktop is in a remote location with rendering done via Queue Manager which gives me a clearer desktop and quieter computer room.
Then don't look at the uvula, it's a pointy mess. For a couple of my male characters I fleshed it out using the morph brush so that comes in as part of the head morph. Makes one wonder if Blackhearted, when designing La'Femme was being lazy on the days he was doing the eyeballs and the Uvula! LOL

The image below is a quick and dirty render of Miki 4 I've been using recently to test skin shaders. I began wondering if I could incorporate AI in generating hair textures. So the image below demonstrates that we can efficiently create hair textures, in any color, which includes displacement, normal, albedo, and roughness maps simultaneously. Moss Green hair.

That's why I invested in an anatomically correct eye model on CGTrader, which you can see in my render above. Superfly has really emphasized the flaws in the existing figures' eyes.

I have always been well aware of the limitations with my computer art, I am limited by my own skill set, the ability of Poser, the content I can afford and the spec of the machine I use. I am sure there are loads more but they are the main ones. So the project is really to find where those limits are now, particularly with the opportunity afforded by Poser 13. The shorter render times clearly make more complex scenes possible but what about content, what is the limit on the render quality and is that limit a Poser limit or a Content limit or both.
To try an understand this a little more I have splashed out on some kits that are developed not only for the individual but also the likes of the game studios. From the promos the quality is clearly improved on what I would use most of the time, but the big question is can I make them work in Poser 13 and what returns am I likely to see.
These last few renders are the start of that journey and I am really pleased you liked the result.

Yeah, I have the default eyes hidden, with the new eye parented to them so they inherit the moves of the original eyes. I have to manually place the eye each time I use it (someone better than me at these things could probably script it, but...), but I like the results. It's probably higher poly than the original eye part, but I don't find it kills performance. Long term I'd like to convert some of my existing eye textures for Caraesarpro's eye, but for the moment I've been using high-res iris textures by Carel5103 (also at CGTrader).
I couldn't render this scene on my GPU but it works on the CPU. The lady in the red dress is LaFemme, everyone else are older figures. Vicky 4, Mike 4 and the two lurking in the booth are Poser 4 LowRes figures. Image adjusted in PostFX with changes to exposure and gamma (I don't know what gamma is but when I tweaked the dial I thought it looked better).

ran a few tests with older Models, Quick setups to see how shadows work , making it not to realistic with a touch of art. I normally just use Firefly so it is quiet a change, especially that you can't take the Preview as reference for your final. Also not quiet easy getting rid of all these dots that remain in renders. In some cases I got the feeling that the skin is getting a little to shiny, making it look a little like Plastic but I think i could figure out how to lower this side effect.
I used really old V4 setups for this little quick test and a Steam Punk style one wheeler, No Postwork done on the renders, there right out of the box. I have to say it is not easy at all using the lights to generate accurate shadows. My Computer started to take off like hell, all fans turned on sounding like a shuttle take off .....
As mentioned it is just a quick test to see if older modes get some Improvements without spending hours on material setups. That fantasy V4 setup resulted having some small issues with the shadows on some parts that I was not able figuring why it happen, the background aura from the spot came pretty well , seems that it would make neat effects when casting the Pinup or model shadow on a wall. I would say that it worked out having a balance between Firefly and supperfly in these quick shots, just that I do not know how heavy it is for the computer.

by dots, do you mean the graininess? You can fix that 2 ways. 1 you can increase your pixel samples and/or turn off adaptive sampling. (or decrease the number listed in it) These will increase rendering time. Or you can use the denoiser in the post fx. With this, you might lose some detail on finely textured items, like sand or maybe cloth.

Yes graininess ... :) for works with shadows it probably will be quiet difficult, some parts came out neat others could be a little better, probably also due the strength depending on the parts. some need to be strong and some smooth, well at least for my style, not a commonly used way. But the balance seems to be good enough, not resulting to look like a screenshot of a game like it happens many times. I don't like the denoiser turned all the way up, which was the only setting in 12, but being able to do a little bit and still leave some grain (e.g. set it to 0.5) is a nice balance between cleaning up the image and not going to plastic. It is big in a couple of ways, I am reducing models to 40% on import to Poser but when you think that my character is then smaller than the street lights in the foreground this is a big building. My character is set up to be around five foot in relation normal Poser props, in this case what I did was reduce the model down to a size where the character was the right size for walking through the doors (the grey oblongs in the centre of the lower floor).Another kit, another model, This is where I am at trying to get this particular model to work in Poser 13.
More to the point the kit consists of 72 models of which 23 of different sized buildings some nearly as big, or bigger than this model. The rest are the individual items such as trees, canopies, lights, railings and the like so that the scene can be further expanded. I have since picked up a Hi-Tech Street kit which will allow my add street networks, monorails and kiosks to my buildings or city. The only downside is they need a some work to get them to play with Power 13, not a small task but the potential for my sci-fi story telling is potentially huge.

While making these renders, actually just test renders I also measured the power consumption of poser 13 when using the superfly this gives an Idea on how much a render will cost on your budget even if they are not quiet final.
So with an average computer ( Desktop ) i7-11700K equipped with 64 ram and a Dual RTX3060 the consumption of power was a little more then 3kwh. meaning that these 5 test renders cost about 1$ in a household. I do not even want to test how much it would be for a final render at higher size.
The computer gives it all turning to full power mode. Compared to older versions or other rendering apps ( DS not included ) it sure is a bummer, making this hobby to be really expensive for sure. I do not want to imagine a final render that is running overnight and at daytime to be prepared with some testing, with this sort of engine it would cause household costs of 3-4$ for just one render
Using the Firefly engine you would not even notice a change on your daily consumption, witch naturally makes you think twice if you are willing to spend this much for just one render.
I have no Idea what is causing such a consumption peak that will end up on your bill, but for sure is a bummer .... also considering if the quality is really worth the amount you are using so I guess it was the last time I ran the superfly render in Poser this saves me allot that I can spend for better things.
So to get an Idea of this consumption Peak for 5 small Test renders with superfly you could watch Tv on a 65" 4K screen for about 30h the consumption of Poser 13 superfly is blowing every record on a budget ! People are often not aware of such impacts so it might give you a little something to think about.
I have no Idea what impact such a render would have on a Laptop running on batteries, how long would the battery last, could a laptop handle such a superfly render, would it just drain your battery ? Honestly I was really surprised after the measurements that I actually did because of the Desktop liftoff when starting the superfly render engine.
Speaking of power consumption: Even if I do renders quite all the evening till midnight, I never hear my RTX2080's fans trying to create a triple-twister like when I was just launching a 2 minutes computations using stable diffusion...
The first time I launch SD with whatever shit to compute, I heard a weird noise coming out of my computer, never heard such thing..
Damn SD: now you're gone, prob. forever...

The highest impact came from the Cpu turning it to a egg pan LOL. I have a consumption meter for the computer line, but rather for my business as I do not want to sell something that costs me 3$ for 1$ would not make much sense. Thing is, if I didn't render I wonder what I would be doing instead, there are many pastimes that would be cheaper on electricity but more expensive in other ways.

3KW costs $1? 1KW averages 10-12 cents in the US.... That's 30-36 cents....
Secondly, why are you preview renders using 3kwh? That's a 10+ hour render on your system.....
Your doing the math all wrong for KWH.....
3kwh in a 5 min render is pulling about 25,000 watts................... The wiring in your house doesn't support that......

Yes Daz Studio is even worse that I am aware of it :) that is a budget killer at least with our prices of energy 37c a kwh a real killer ! you get at a point checking everything that could hit your purse. This is ridiculous. I make multiple test renders per day, almost every day. If your calculations were true, my electric bill would be 3 times more than it is to run everything in the house, including heating and air conditioning.I have an i9-10900K with 64GB RAM and ONE RTX-3070. When I render a single 1200 x 1600 V4 in a scene without anything else, using Poser 13's OptiX High render preset, the fan doesn;t kick in at all. Then I also added some transmapped hair. Even with that, the render took only 45 seconds with no fan kicking in..I suspect you are using the same render settings that you used for Poser 11 and Poser 12. Instead, use one of the render presets in Poser 13. Since your graphics card is OptiX Capable, try the OptiX High preset.And, for the record, when I render in DAZ Studio, the fan runs constantly from start to end of render. Just saying.
vopehov506 posted at 8:11 AM Tue, 18 April 2023 - #4462561It was a superfly test run of 6-7h resulting with 5 renders that could be halfway useful to see how superfly works so superfly used up way more energy then firefly with firefly I can use my computer for 3 days for 3kwh and not just for 6-7h. you are lucky with the 10-12c we have here depending on regions a price of 30 - 60c a kwh :( that makes you think twice before turning on a switch .....So with an average computer ( Desktop ) i7-11700K equipped with 64 ram and a Dual RTX3060 the consumption of power was a little more then 3kwh. meaning that these 5 test renders cost about 1$ in a household. I do not even want to test how much it would be for a final render at higher size.
3KW costs $1? 1KW averages 10-12 cents in the US.... That's 30-36 cents....
Secondly, why are you preview renders using 3kwh? That's a 10+ hour render on your system.....
Your doing the math all wrong for KWH.....
3kwh in a 5 min render is pulling about 25,000 watts................... The wiring in your house doesn't support that......
