Thanks for the tip.Glad it was a simple fix. Once you have everything back where you want, I recommend setting one of the UI dots to make it easier to fix if it happens again.

Setting to factory state on the interface fixed it. I forgot that launching to preferred and factory states is on two tabs. I had it set to factory state on the document page, but that obviously didn't fix that issue. Thanks very much. I was pulling what little hair I have let out.

Yes, the "SnapTo" script uses Tkinter as part of the PoserPython script - which means Mac users can't run it. Tkinter is one of the many things not supported by Apple.
But you don't have to miss out on all Python scripts. Open the desired script with a text editor, and look for "Tkinter" near the top. If it's not there, then you can likely run the script. Unless, perhaps Apple has introduced further security-blocks that I've not yet heard about.
Thanks for this tip. I did try running it and it does use Tkinter.

Not really for when bringing it in, but once you have an item in you seen an easy way to move it would be Ochams 'snap to' script on his site @ Ocham's Bungalow
I'm on a Max so python scripts don't work. Thanks anyway!!!

you can create a pose and save the body transformations - this way you can put back to the exact same place every time
see this thread for finding objects in a large scene.
Thanks!!

Definitely a different behavior with the translate tool. From time to time, I use the translate tool to "nudge" a hand or foot around and the limb/torso/etc. will follow along depending on how far I move the body part. I can confirm that the stretching is happening in Poser Pro 11.2.319 on macOS Catslina. Stretching DOES NOT occur on my Mac running macOS Sierra and Poser Pro 11.2.319.
Additionally, the translate tool works normally on the first use of it, but begins stretching on the following usages.
I hope this gets sorted out quickly.

Thanks Lee and Nerd, confirming it isn't just me that is experiencing this. Hopefully the developers will look into this.
