**SnakeGrab** has released a rather interesting item, Ro-Man's helmet from "Robot Monster", one of the oddest examples of post-war "atomic age" alien invasion cinema.  Whether factual or just show business urban legend, it's claimed the budget was so tight that it could not afford a proper "robot" costume, so George Barrows used one of his own gorilla costumes he tailored and substituted the ape mask for a space helmet prop.

Movie posters depicted a fleshless skull housed within the helmet and later reproductions and art continued this motif.  In reality, Barrows wore a simple, featureless hood to hide his all too human face.  Barrows would later go on to develop ever improved gorilla suits that appeared in movies and TV.

As a quick example, I positioned the helmet atop the DAZ gorilla.  (Yeah, he looks a bit skinny compared to Barrows' overstuffed ape suit.)  I think there are a few free ape figures available so one can create his own "Robot Monster".

Sincerely,

Bill
