Once the Archduchess had remodelled the palace in the style of a Terran mediaeval castle, it seemed only sensible to dress her Archducal Guards to fit in. A few days of clunking around in plate armour, however, had the entire force ready to mutiny, so the Archduchess settled for a modern suit, textured to look like metal armour, which everybody likes. She did contemplate arming her soldiers with broadswords, but came to the conclusion that there was something to be said for the extra firepower of disintegrators.
