Everywhere people with camera's find their way in this world to make their shots. I like the art of taking realistic pictures, because it provides a way to show how I experience this world. It is a way for other people to look through my eyes.Nature ... exists primarily for her face, her look, her appeals to the heart and the imaginationGeorge MacDonaldJan-Carel Vierbergen
Picture courtesy of Ruut WegmanBIOIt is all in the family: love for hiking in the nature. Since my childhood I'm used to walk with father, brothers, cousins, etc., and take pictures (Minolta X-700 with 28-70 mm and 100-300 mm zoom) of what I see. I grew up in Ede (The Netherlands), studied Electrical Engineering in Eindhoven and I am working now as Coordinator e-learning at the Christelijke Hogeschool Ede (http://www.che.nl) where I implement digital assessments for students and assist students in DTP and creating websites.
Since I know little about photographing as well as computer science it was not difficult to find ways for putting images on the web. The only thing to look for now is to find ways for showing the slides in a convenient way. I tried already something at http://www.che.nl/users/jcv (Dutch only, click at Dia's van de natuur in Nederland en de Alpen), but this platform provides good means to share my pictures with others.
I hope you enjoy this!

This is just fantastic. I love pictures in the snow like this. Have you tried pulling the blue down a fraction on the snow and increasing the contrast, might intensify the sky too. Love it!

Someone was smart enough to not go so close too the edge. Could have been a sudden ride down the side of this mountain. I love the view from up here.

see - this is the kind of shot i would never be able to make (not just because i dont go for walks on snowy mountains but) because i never see long shadows in the morning ;) not that i dont like them tho, i just dont get up that early on principle. nice playing of light on the footsteps/curve of the hillside. Always a pleasure to not have been on R'osity for a while and come back to view some backlogs of good shots :)
