I shot this picture a little over a month ago from the back deck of my house. It was around 11:30 pm, and I was out there chatting with my roommate after a rather long day at work (seems I've had a lot of those lately), and happened to look up. Needles to say, I headed in and grabbed my gear. The only thing I was not able to capture very well was the way the clouds looked... kind of like the cotton fiber filling from a pillow that has been stretched and has both thick and thin spots in it. Then again, since it was a fairly long exposure time, I wasn't really expecting too. Thankfully the wind that had been blowing died down to just an occasional breeze, otherwise this would have been impossible to shoot. Shot with my Olympus E-300, using the 14-45mm lens, actual focal lenght was 28mm. The camera was tripod mounted, and had Antishock turned on for 5 seconds (locks up the mirror and allows time for any vibration to stop). The ISO was 100, aperture F4.5, and a 30 second shutter speed. I also had the on-camera Noise Reduction turned on to compensate for the long exposure (camera does black frame comparison for the same amount of time as the shutter speed and removes any random noise generated due to the CCD heating up). Photoshop used to resize and add my signature only. No other post work was used... I love my E-300 :) Thanks for stopping by and having a look. Comments and crits are always welcome.
