An open cockpit with three huge propellers whirring close behind your head, that must have been quite an experience. It reminds me of the Supermarine Walrus though I'd guess there is a considerable size difference. Intriginly the Walrus addressed my two mentioned problems with a closed cockpit and a pusher engine. The Iris looks far the prettier, though it must be an earlier design of the two. the Walrus was a tough little creature.
