I want to thank all the other artists who took the time to comment and fav my last image. I love reading them and they always make me feel so great. Thank You. :o)
Well, it's that time of the year, the annual Dog and Critter Show. Everyone is down at the Les Suds and Spa Salon getting coiffured and fluffy for the big day. It is also the only place in the area that have Peanutbutter bickies. Yes, it's true...well... this is what I have been told, I have never tasted one, but they say, they melt in the mouth.
Every animal in the Forest is allowed to enter the show. And I mean every animal from lowly Snail to majestic Elephant, that's if the Forest had Elephants, but one never knows what will pass through from time to time. Stanley the Skunk took Best of Forest last year. I must admit from the stories I have heard he was lovely. His coat was beautifully done and was so shiny and he didn't get over excited and spray everyone (sadly that's what happened the year before and he disqualified). The price of a ticket is two acorns and a winterberry. Everyone has been doing extra chores to earn the admission fee, you can purchase a ticket at the Little or Nothing Emporium on Mushroom Lane.
The excitement is rising as the big day nears. The Show committee has been busy getting things ready and decorated down at the Great Pavilion. The award ribbons have been lovingly made and the Gold Fairy and mice have made the medals that will be attached to the ribbons. The refreshment committee has gone all out this year, making delicious cakes and pastries. Even Esmeralda has sent Perfumed Nibbles and Dipped Peppermint Crumbles from the South. Mmmm yummy! The barrels of Petal Juice are on ice and baskets of wild strawberries are waiting to garnish the glasses.
So if you go down Honeypot Road and bear to the left and go down the old rock steps near the old stone wall, you will come to the Great Pavilion, but I suggest you stay behind the large juniper bushes and watch the show from there. The dogs and critters are all at high excitement and nervous and if they see strangers ... well, there's no telling what could happen. Once the show is over and the festivities start it will be okay to come out, but please, don't over imbibe the Petal juice. If you aren't used to it....well.... lets say there are a lot trees in the Forest and they tend to pop up when you least expect it. There have reports of Fairies who have made contact with some of the larger trees and the result was not pretty. The Healing Witch is always busy after a celebration applying ice packs, bandages and even casts...once a full body cast...well that's what I was told... :o)
