Description

This is a closeup of yesterday's Amun Leopard. It's not a zoom or a crop, and neither was yesterday's shot. I was actually no more than 3 meters from this guy. This lens won't focus closer than 1.8 meters, and the distance between us wasn't much more than that. Anyway, I just thought he had such a great expression that I wanted to share it. Like the picture of the Female Hooded Merganser, this was taken through glass, so it's not as sharp as I would like it. Not that I would have gotten this close to this guy without something sturdy between us LOL. Thanks for stopping by and any comments.

At least you were able to get a shot, Dennis. The glass around the meerkat enclosure I went to was so dirty, there was no way I could get a shot. Don't zoos own a bottle of Windex?! Nicely done and a lovely portrait, with beautiful DOF.

That's fantastic! You can literally count the whiskers. I can sort of see a haze that would indicate there's glass between you, but it doesn't detract at all. Wonderful capture!

Wonderful!! There were places at the San Diego Zoo that we were allowed to get very close to the tigers. It is amazing they handle the crowds so well, sometimes. Excellent capture.
