Description

The Two-ten might not be as flashy as the Bel Air, but at least it had the sidetrim that the One-Fifty lacked (and only gained from 1956 on). This was our family driver for almost 20 years.

Another excellent render. I have to ask if you would explain how you set up your scenes to achieve such great reflections on the car.

Thanks for the replies. DarthSpam - i use a gradient reflection map done up in MAX, grey ground to blue sky with a black strip in the middle. There are 2 dim omnis placed front and back of the model, and a large angled VRay Light plane at the same side of the camera, placed parallel to the model. The ground is a circle shape with a gradient from white to black in the opacity slot, so that it fades to the black environment. I save as PNG with the Alpha channel so i can add that "glow" (actually just a bluish grey big ellipse, very blurred against black) in Photoshop. I don't use GI anymore, content with the mellow shadow cast by the Vray light (the omnis cast no shadow). Hope it helps.

An old Navy veteran finally trusted me to drive one of these onto the hoist at teh gas station where I worked and change it's oil. That was a remarkable win his friends said. He restored a 1920's car himself and had it painted by his brother. He was a truck driver.

Thanks all for the replies! Actually Dad's Two-Ten never wore whitewalls, but in a virtual world, well why not (-:
