Description
The Spix Macaw is critically endangered and possibly extinct in the wild.
Habitat: South America; near the rio São Francisco in north Bahia, Brazil.
Protected under Brazilian law. Ten years of protection, habitat restoration and a variety of on-going community conservation programs, will pave the way for future reintroductions.
Recovery of the Spix's Macaw and cooperation between holders of birds resulted in annual increases in the captive population.
These two are just having fun.

These are such lovely, colorful creatures. What a shame they are so endangered. I hope they can be returned to the wild in a BIG way. Wonderful work my little Australian friend.
