Description

****************Sounds of SILENCE**************** Hello darkness, my old friend...I've come to talk with you again, Because a vision softly creeping,.. Left its seeds while I was sleeping, And the vision-- that was planted in my brain Still remains,... Within the sound of silence. In restless dreams I walked alone, through Narrow streets of cobblestone, 'Neath the halo of a street lamp, I turned my collar to the cold and damp - When my eyes were stabbed by the flash of a neon light! That split the night! And touched the sound of silence. And in the naked light I saw... Ten thousand people, maybe more. People talking without speaking, People hearing without listening, People writing songs that voices never share And no one dared - Disturb the sound of silence. "Fools!" said I, "You do not know! Silence like a cancer grows!. Hear my words that I might teach you, Take my arms that I might reach you." But my words like silent raindrops fell,.... And echoed In the wells of silence. And the people bowed and prayed! To the neon gods they'd made! And the sign flashed out its warning!!, In the words that it was forming. And the sign said, "The words of the prophets are written on the subway walls And tenement halls" And whisper'd.... in the sounds of silence.......... ****Music and Lyrics by Simon and Garfunckle **** ~~* Only a small part of this was rendered in Poser - with Michael 2 - other parts are taken from free wallpaper sites on the web. Postwork done in Photoshop 6. *Thank you for viewing! have a super day! =)

I was young in the 60's and this image conjures up the labyrinthine odyssey which has taken place since then. Given the grotesque propaganda today the words and rhythm of The Sounds of Silence were never more appropriate. The image of a train carrying masses of people into mysterious futures has been used many times to suggest either the entrapment of an impending doom or as in some gosphel music, i.e. There's A Train A Comin', a spiritual liberation. Despite what the socalled entrepreneurial spirit would have you believe the commercialization and commodification of all things human is not new, the 'house of merchandise', the 'market', has a long and disturbing history, 'All these will I give you...' Matt.4:9.

This is fantastic... the imagery is provokative and goes perfectly with a moving song... You've done a great job of taking us all on a journey...
