Description

Day 4 of my creating something every day challenge - but, formatting failed me at the last minute so I didn't get it posted in time (Let's pretend I did cause hey, I did get it done all in one day!) This one took forever to pose, but I think he might be worth his own series. Hmmm By the way, the Spartacos texture from SAV is so much fun to work with.

This looks very much like a painting that could grace any gallery... beautiful done. It goes well with the weather that is scorching most of the country the past few weeks.

Ha, valid point Barry. It does pretty much feel like I have been every time I go outside for the past month. (Maybe it was in the back of my head somewhere?) And thank you! :) I actually am considering turning this into a painting as well.

Thank you for the comment, as as always to all of you, all of the encouragement! He's definately going to get a lot of work from me, he renders so beautifully. I feel like I didn't do him justice here - maybe in one of the next ones I'll capture how great he looks in Poser :) I did try to add him to the credits but in my frantic fight to get this posted before midnight (which I failed it) somehow it didn't go through! So yes, the texture is Spartacos by StudioArtVartanian, everyone should go get him if you need a man with some masculinity and grunge and lots of options!

Impressive pose, composition, and render! Very expressive and it conveys the story well. I too could see this on a canvas. A series is a great idea.

Although this has little to do with the excellence of your render, it reminded me of a sign I once saw in a novelty shop which said – “Some people say I have a drinking problem, I drink, I get drunk, I fall down…no problem!” I find this render exceptionally moody, and I can well imagine that it will remind many a viewer of the old adage – “Been there, done that!” I do love the overall sandy atmosphere of the entire picture, it’s definitely what sets the mood. Your work is quite good young lady, do keep it up. Oh – and I’m jealous – there’s no way I could ever turn out a painting every day. You rock, keep it going.

Totally wonderful artwork. Very impressive and a total change in style. Love the sand effect and the general atmosphere. I'm a little bit behind on the galleries (hence why I'm just managing to comment on this now) but as this is a couple of days old, it must be time for you to post something new. Please keep posting as your renders are terrific every time.

I'd revisit this guy a lot! Great pose. I like the classical vibe in this quite a lot, and I keep thinking in the directions of old mythology, folklore, and all of that good stuff. I think what makes me think of that is the fact that this is a very, very elegant image. I love the idea that there's only the human subject and not much of a background at all; there's a hint of a background, but more a hint, a whisper, but that's it. There's one simple prop: and that's it, too. I think that really works to heighten the emotional intensity and force the viewer to focus on the actual subject: a human...a human implying emotion. It's hard to say if the character is actually experiencing an emotion or simple tiredness, but that ambiguity works really well for me, because it opens up a wealth of interpretations and it'll be interesting to see how those interpretations change over time. This is really nice. More of this character would be great!
