Description

Ever have one of those renders that just turns out messy no matter what you do, and after spending hours and hours reworking and re-rendering, your only choices are to scrap it or refuse to give up on it and labor over hours of postwork? Well, meet Whisper, my latest beast, heh. As much as I wanted and intended to turn out work faster, I was determined not to give up on this one (another lesson that's good for me to face). I could definitely find more work to do on it, but you know, sometimes you just come to a point where you have to force yourself to stop touching it. Thank you as usual for all the encouragement, you guys are the best :) Now to figure out what is next. Hmmmmmm

One of those times??? LOL... everything I do is like that, I hate my pictures, most of them anyway.... This is beautiful, I love the misty look and the pose with her horse is classical beauty. Sometimes, you just gotta say "Done"!!!

I think it is magnificent. Like barryjeffer, every single thing I do is like what you are saying. That's why not much is in my gallery.

I agree with Shroom. You should not be so hard on yourself. Somethimes, the way it turns out is your imagination going that "extra mile". It has turned out just as it's meant to. Your hard work and natural talent, are self evident here. Steve :)

Hehe, thank you guys. I wasn't meaning to sound as hard on myself as it seemed. It was just one of those renders that takes lots of painting in order to get the "messy out, and bring it to fruition. Some just seem to go easier than others and this wasn't one of them - but I didn't want to take the easy way out and scrap it like I usually do. And even when I paint traditionally, I can ALWAYS find something to add or tinker with or adjust. I usually just have to tell myself its time to put it down now! I actually like this alright now that I look at it with fresh eyes. There may always be something that doesn't look "done", but that's alright, I'll figure it out on the next one :) Thank you again, its nice to finally be getting things out in the public and bringing you all along with me on this artistic pilgrimage I feel like I'm on. Im usually so private, I decided that if I'm going to put my work here, I might as well be honest about the process and all the emotions that often go behind it, and get to know other artists on that level that go through it too.

A beautiful emotional image with super posing of the horse and the girl. Some images go right first but most of mine take render after render and lots of postwork to get them anywhere near ready. I too started out not knowing a jolly thing but with the help of RR and lots of tutorials I am finally starting to get the hang of things but with heaps still to learn.

well unless i am intentionally doing a more 3d toonish look i have much post work and sometime multiple rendered layers to get what i want.. and that after maybe 3 or so days of light and shader adjusting "test" renders.. lol I love what you did with the Girl and her horse theme!!! i REALLY like her look and the way you have her dressed.. the flowers on her leg was genius!!! This is a very masterful piece! I say send it to fine-art printing show it and and sell it! :o) would love to see more of her with or without her horse! she is special!! have a great day/night and thank you for sharing your talents with us! :o)

Honey, every render is a struggle. If it wasn't a struggle it wouldn't be worth while putting it out here. Remember the old adage, it's not the end, but the journey that counts. Every effort you put into an image now, whether you judge it to be a success or not, will pay off in some future work. The secret is simply to keep pushing, and never be completely satisfied. I look back on some of my images that I thought were "great" at the time and now I see all sorts of fixes. Just smile and go on, keep the faith and never, ever stop growing!
