Love this! I have one of these balls in fern green... I keep mine backlit on a stone pedestal by a frosted bathroom window next to a glass horse sculpture in the same color... always got a lot of nice comments about them. I have always loved art items in transparent glass. Nice abstract capture by the way!

A super shot and fiddle :-) If just it could collect ALL the dust in the house, I would pay alot of money for it :D

LOL @ Helle! I'd never thought of that aspect before. Some knick-knack that collected all the dust in the house would be valuable, indeed! I've got a glass ball with me here in the motorhome ... I hadn't thought of photographing it ... hmmmmm ...

Great idea Andrea, this piece works so well, this would also look nice if you could isolate it with a white background and fire different coloured lights at it.. and either capture the reflections or the object itself.

An artificially constructed moon, consisting of variously sized bubbles, orbits the digifiddled benign planet below, in this splendid image, Andrea.

That's what my father used to call my mother's knick knacks. Scientists just announced that there may be an earth-like planet 12 light years away so who knows. Wonderful image and post work. It does look the part.

Very nice work! I don't really need one of these to collect dust, I'm already pretty good at it.

Andrea, I have to go now, as I started here around 7:15 our time and it's now close to 9:15, and I have chores to do (in this lovely freezing weather). So I'll end for now. I'll be back for more during this commenting period...But I end with this---all the way back in early November (god, so LONG ago, and we were all so young then!!!) because I just love it. More of your wonderful edge-work in the window and in the areas around the big ball. And in the window---because there's so much empty space---the colonies of color are just wonderful. In some cases, they're like highly articulated metal surfaces...I can't tell if all those spheres on the glass ball are actual dust, if they're dust exaggerated by your postwork, if they're bubbles in the glass (or plastic), or what---but visually, they're just great. A real explosion-of-a-piece, and yes, it's icy indeed. And the areas in front of the ball are much more lit, and resemble continents on a map. A terrific piece, with many of your elements of design; and lots and lots of fun. Also, the green in the whole foreground is terrific. Love this piece! Love it when you do this. I'll be back, but it's just great (as always) to comment here. Hope you're having a good week. Your digifiddles remind me that I have to do that more, with photography. I don't mean big "panel" things, just doing it with pictures. I still feel 'new' to photography, so I tend not to mess with single shots too much. It's time. I just love what you do when you do this.
