Description
The beach at Bandon at sunset. There are a lot of very large & dramatic rock formations here, some of which you can walk right up to at low tide...
Please zoom.

Oh wow. I love everything about this. First of all, it's Bandon, which is one of my favorite places. Then there are reflections, which you know I think are the best thing going. And the softening and colors, creating a mood ... it's superb! Excellent work, my friend. Top notch stuff.

I'd hang this on my wall Claude. Love it. Soon we will be visiting Craters of the Moon National Park. It is a vast ocean of lava flows with scattered islands of cinder cones and sagebrush. It is where all the basalt floods came from that made their way across Oregon and into the ocean such as we see here.

Stunning shot. Bandon is on my list of stops on my next CA/OR road trip.

Btw, despite the now somewhat clumsy demand of 3 clicks to see full view, I'm still doing it on every pic; and it pays off totally on shots like this. I'm not alone---from what I read above---in finding this a stunning capture. And capture it is---"shot" implies something static, all contained, I don't know. But "capture" implies you stole a moment from something that was morphing, moving, more extensive than a "shot" would imply. This scene seems to be morphing through light and fog, mist and change of day, etc, where even solid forms of rocks and beach are subject to change, if we stand here enough. Makes my recent shots feel tepid by comparison.
And you have a lone bird about a third of the way from the left frame (just under the water line), giving the sense that life is small and forlorn in this otherworldly, beautiful scene. And the solid rocks have been rendered soft 'suggestions' as well as rocks, by the atmosphere you've created and coaxed out of your shot. In the original shot, and your handling of it, it's like a fragile ceramic painting mixed with ephemeral nature, with beautiful gold hues, blue reflective hues, and deep pastel skies, with that heavy sea and rocks in between. Beautifully captured/cropped/presented, with your expert hand and eye. Your work doesn't wane, Claude. Hard to stop here, but it's a pleasure even to comment on 2. Beautiful work all around.
