Description
St. Vitus Cathedral in Prague was built over many centuries. Construction began in the 14th century, but proceeded haltingly due to wars, lack of funds, fires, etc. & it wasn't completed until 1929!

lol, on the time it took to complete this! Can you imagine sitting on the lawn of your new house for, like, 6 centuries, and saying, "it's ok, they're still working on the living room..." What a unique angle you got: Just about every shot of a Gothic Cathedral nave is straight down and straight up (down the nave, up to the ceiling). Somehow you got it all bent to our right, and it makes the place really loom. Again, your powerful golden light, and those deep red browns...and the top of the image shows that exquisite groined vaulting that looks like a cellular structure up there. Or maybe the first fractals. Also, you got the foreground flat as a pancake, so the pic has a real root. A wonderful giddy shot of a Gothic interior, with your usual opulent glow and richness. Love it, Claude. (And the owners might wanna tell anyone buying from these builders: "Expect a wait...bring a boxed lunch...")

It's so huge and so incredibly imposing, which I guess is the purpose--to make us humans feel small and insignificant. Such a beautiful cathedral!

Very nice capture. I like the architecture very much. Maybe it would look nicer as monochrome version but that is my personal opinion.
