Description
Dejah Thoris, a Martian princess of the "Red Race" from the novels of Edgar Rice Burroughs. I attempted to depict Dejah and the city of Helium not from a modern perspective, but how a reader living at the time of the publication of the first novel (A Princes Of Mars, 1912) may have envisioned them. Hence Dejah's slightly "Rubinesque" figure, which at that time was still considered to be the "ideal" female form, and the planetary look of the two moons of Barsoom (Mars). Today we know that Mars' two satellites are a pair of large, roughly potato-shaped rocks (probably captured asteroids). They are not visible from the surface in daylight, and even at night they would only be visible as tiny pinpoints of light.
But this is 1912...

Thank you!

Rubinesque is still my favorite look for the female form (my own and my wife's!) So I appreciate that you made the character shapely, both to fit the time period you're aiming for and to add some diversity to the "beach bodies" we so often see :-) Nice vintage sci-fi feel, with just the right tint of red!
