Interesting shot! I had a bee hanging around my back door. I think it was a carpenter bee. I saw it go up my faucet. I turned it on and "rusty" water came out. And then the bee. I thought "Why is my water rusty." But it was actually yellow. They were making a hive in my faucet. Next day I checked it again. More yellow. I attached the hose then. Haven't seen them since.

carpenter bees usually make hives in the dirt, and I have heard their sting is very nasty. I got stung by one while filling my gas tank on the way to Oklahoma City. luckily I had a very cold can of DR Pepper and held it to my hand while driving

Ouch, stay away from me. Super shot of this bad boy!

Oh dear! I'd stay clear of it, they can have nasty stings for sure! Very cool you were able to get a lovely shot of it though. Picture is close enough for me though!

the critter in this photo makes hives in the dirt also. I use a nozzle on my hose and try to drown them. last year, I was able kill many of them. I have killed several of them this year. I found that ant, roach spray knocks them out almost instantly

Indeed they are dangerous beasts, I know all about them, after being attacked and stabbed in the left eye !!

Excellent capture. Just keep them away from your house.😊

I looked at the insect in full size, I thought it was a kind of wasp. I have no idea if these dangerous insects also occur in the Netherlands.
