Description

-Joe and Ron, the village fishermen, were out in the bay early that morning pulling up their nets after a rather stormy night. The bay water was usually muddy and brown after the rains hit but for some strange reason this morning it was cristal clear, literally mirroring the old town and port. Suddenly Joe's bare foot brushed something in the sand and he looked down to see a beautiful pink and white shell of a sort he'd very rarely found in those waters. "I haven't seen one of these since Tadpole planted that tree in Port Village square!" exclaimed Joe as he lifted the shell and examined it. It was a perfect form, neither broken nor scratched and it hadn't yet taken on the grey color that the shells in the bay usually did. Just then, Shari and her friend, Christy, happened to pass by on the shore. "Well look who's here, Joe! What are two beautiful princesses doing out on the beach so early this fine morning?" exclaimed Ron. "Good morning Ron and Joe! It's a very special day today so we've got a lot to do! Today is Christie's birthday and we're picking some Erka flowers to decorate her birthday cake," said Shari with a grin. "Her birthday! Now that is very special. But you can't have a birthday without a present! Here's a beautiful shell for a beautiful young lady. Happy Birthday, Christie," said Joe as he handed her the perfect shell. "Wow! Thanks Joe!" exclaimed Christie with a huge smile on her face. This was going to be the best birthday ever!- I'm a couple of days late with this but it took much longer than expected.
