Description

Switzerland is renowned with triple-c products: chocolat, cheese and clocks. What is the secret of their precision intruments? Well, the idea is very simple. Take a good starting point and refer all measures to that point! Just as this little town, from which I found an old postcard (genuine sepia color) recently. I guess it's from somewhere in between 1910 and 1930 (the date is not mentioned on it). Being there I decided to make the same shot once again. I did not succeed so very well, because the photo for this postcard has been taken from a high position (I guess a ladder) on a crossing. It is remarkable how little has changed here. Find the differences! For those who liked the Lady's slipper orchid 3 I am happy to present the translation of the Swiss poem. It is a fine translation made by Gerhard a.k.a. gerbach, for which I am very grateful. Minolta X-700 (Fuji Sensia 100, 28 mm) Thanks for your attention and your always valuable comments

Everything around here changes so much over the years, but this place seems to have withstood the test of time...Excellent duplication!!! :)

apart from the yellow crossing lines on the road there hardly seems to be much change in the village. Most beautiful comparison my friend. The only thing that must have been changed...... and again it's just a wild guess is ........... there must have been some sort of building from where this image was captured which is not there anymore or maybe a bridge or any other higher platform construction because you say you couldn't capture from teh same site due to the height thing. Anyway, this is a an absolutely wonderful comparison shot!:O))

Neat idea, clever shot. Maybe the Swiss have another good philosophy.. "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"

You did an excellent job getting the angle and height almost the same!!! I'm amazed how little things have changed since the time the original photo was made. The tree sure has grown!!! A wonderful image of a place where time seems to move very slowly!

This is really neat! I went back and forth between both pictures and its amazingly quite the same! How nice to see that some things don't change.

Love the comparison here, the sepia image appears to be much, much older! While the color image of yours, virtually the same, appears to be almost lost in a time capsule! Excellent work! :)

Thats really cool. To see how it hasnt changed that much, but where it had to like the road, and to see how the tree has grown, very nice.
