Description

I've been working on it on and off for five months in photoshop and painter. It's 4300x7000pixels at 300dpi and my only serious expose3 submission, as I've been low on inspiration and time lately. I am non religious nowadays, so I wasn't trying to make an icon that christians specifically can relate to. So it's not necessarily Jesus on the cross. I was more trying to depict the horror of people who are feeling punished by society due to being different. So it's a painting about selfish me. I am transsexual after all. the right arm of the cross is longer to make the figure's waist permanently twisted to the right, in the hope that I'm adding to his torment. I'm not touching it again, I hope you like it. DEDICATED TO Melania, Bev, Cassie and Jim! thank you for your patience. kisses, christina

Hello. I really like the sky, the rest of the image is hard to make out because of the resolution of computer screens. Do you have a link to a higher res image?

I have to comment before someone thinking they have the moral upper hand decides it doesn't comform to the ToS. This is brilliant, and a great piece of art. I hope you do well at expose3.

Fabulous!!! Hey Jesus was just one of thousands that were crucified. The symbol should be more universal than just one man.Your painting is beautiful, and the message is powerful!! Excellent work!!

I keep coming back to this & trying to find words that are anywhere near adequate to express what this makes me feel & still they elude me! This is such incredible work Tina, I am simply stunned by your talent & artistic expression, I am humbled & moved by your dedication beyond words too, thank you so much for sharing this huge hugs.

Somehow Excellant doesn't reach far enough for this. You're technique is breathtaking. You're like a fine author with each piece. I am curious about the light showing at the bottom or cutting in maybe is a better way of saying it. Is there significance in that also?

Always a joy to see new work from you, this is certainly another masterpiece. I love the way you have elevated the subject so even in torment it seems to look down on us, perhaps suggesting forgiveness. Thank you for yet another image that has made me stop and think.

That's weird, I thought I left you a comment earlier but I got confused, it was for The Boy That Wasn't... my memory! I remember now, I wanted to come back to it when I could take a moment to express my thoughts more adequately. I'm no better off now though, especially as it's coming up to 1 in the morning... I'll have to compare this with the preview you sent me months ago to be able to tell how you've refined it, but no matter anyway, it's the kind of work only you could produce. Notably there are running threads of symbols in your work, in particular the flowing ribbons which have cropped up numerous times and which seem to be almost a trademark... also the use of glass :-) As I told you at the time, the single eye leads me to the impression that this represents the persecution of those who can see, by those that are blind (in the sense of comprehension obviously). Nothing new, sadly, I'm just sad that one of my friends has to go through this torment and general lack of respect hugest hugs. I think I expressed my admiration for the image itself when you first showed me, so I'll simply refer back to then. Take care my friend, love to you and Maria hugs :-)

So many thoughts rush through my mind as I take in the brilliance of this masterpiece that I've found myself speechless. Reading through comments already here has helped some, especially Jeff who mentioned forgiveness. The only forgiveness in this context would be for those that are so judgemental as to not accept others for exactly who they are. Yet, how can anyone forgive such ignorant bigotry when its so prevalent in society? Who you are has nothing to do with race, creed, sex, occupation...and so on, nomatter how society's materialistic ethics say so. Personally I believe being true to who you are, despite society's ignorant ideals, is what is ultimately important, right up there with the number 42 when thinking about the meaning of life. Thank you for showing so much courage and being a real person within a world of pretenders. hugest hugs I feel so honoured to be included amongst such fine people in this most breathtaking dedication. You are a true Master of Art and life HUUUGEST hugs Much much MUCH love to you and Maria xxxxxxx

Incedibly expressive - and impressive work of art. Like others I feel speechless when looking at this piece - and at the same time I feel like I'd have to write huge stories to tell what's going inside me. Forgiveness? We need that only from ourselves if we have been too hard on ourselves....:-) And sometimes it's good to remember that all of us are same, all of us are different - we all have as many different qualities or features as the same ones! What then matters? It's how we love and respect ourselves, and others - a naiive view but some how so true. It's ore important to love than to be loved by others - and some how I see this that in that bending figure far up in the skies, bound to his/her essence, necessary obstacle of life. The bonds can get loose, but they always are there, and they are near you, and you yourself decide what they matter. I wish you lots of that strength seen in your art, to your life, being you; deciding to be you. I always always enjoy of your irresistable art! Thank you so much for sharing it with us! :-)
