Subject: New Male & Female Add-on packs released today for Texture Transformer

Blacksmith3D ( ) posted Thu, 10 March 2016 at 4:33 PM · edited Mon, 25 November 2024 at 6:06 AM

Just released today: two new Texture Transformer add-on packs. The Female pack includes Dawn to V4, Gen 2 Female to V4 and Gen 2 Female to Gen 3 Female. The Male pack includes Dusk to M4, Gen 2 Male to M4 and Gen 2 Male to Gen 3 Male.

If you bought the M4 to G3M or V4 to G3F add-ons, please check your email for a special coupon for 40% OFF (which works on the sale price) as our way of saying Thank You for being a previous buyer. This coupon is the best deal for previous buyers (since it is good on the individual products' sale prices).

And, for those who haven't bought our Texture Transformer packs yet, or if you let your coupon expire, there is a Bundle deal for 35% off. Coupons cannot be used on Bundle deals.

**PLEASE NOTE: An update to Blacksmith3D (B3D) and Texture Transformer (TT) is needed before Dusk or Dawn cr2 files exported from Daz Studio will work properly with these new Dusk to M4 and Dawn to V4 conversions. This update is scheduled to come out in about a month.

Hi, I received the email with the coupon but it was garbled .html where images etc. appeared to be missing. Could you check if those emails went out OK?

I got an error message when using the Victoria 6 HD character that you must use a character based on the Genesis 2 female so I assume If you are using the Gen 2 Female to Gen 3 for instance you must use the Victoria 6 standard not the Victoria 6 HD character when you export the obj file to transfer a texIture using Texture Transformer.

Just tried it again. I was using a texture preset for Iray so it was not being seen as a Victoria 6 texture. The "standard" material works fine.

I'm getting an error where it does not recognize Genesis 2 male as a source file. It also says it needs to be on Genesis 2 Male base resolution? How do I get that in Poser? Because DSON isn't importing them at base resolution, is it?

Roboman28 ( ) posted Sun, 13 March 2016 at 5:28 AM

I am getting the same error as Gypsyangel but for Genesis 2 female. This is strange because I am using the base Genesis 2 female without character changes. My error message is "This character is not currently supported as a SOURCE file". I have installed the conversion pack in the same TextureTransformerData directory as all the rest. I'm spending hours trying to get this product to work.

rubina ( ) posted Sun, 13 March 2016 at 10:03 AM

I'm having the same errors like written above.

Great Bizarro ( ) posted Sun, 13 March 2016 at 11:10 AM

You might try and load in a Gen 2 female that is not using the Iray shaders, remove all textures but the Base Color and try the conversion. I have a suspicion that the conversion routine is not able to digest some of the texture effects properly.

Blacksmith3D ( ) posted Mon, 14 March 2016 at 3:40 PM

Hello all,

It appears that some of the Daz Studio Gen 2 female version have an OBJ file named "Genesis2Female_996bfa90_1261_2177_6b9f_0502450565ed" yet some of the older DS and Poser versions of Gen 2 Female have an OBJ file named "Genesis2Female_20d12c21_8649_1b0b_c3f4_e2fdf8b66ec7". Our Texture Transformer currently only looks for the latter. Saving your Gen2 female cr2 from DS into your Poser folder where the Gen2 female OBJ named "Genesis2Female_20d12c21_8649_1b0b_c3f4_e2fdf8b66ec7" resides SHOULD fix the issue for now. It's just that each users Poser folder path could be different than the one fly028 noted above. I didn't catch this in testing because I was exporting all my cr2s created in Daz Studio to my Poser folder where the Poser gen2 female OBJ resides. My apologies!

The SourceOBJ file that Texture Transformer can also be changed in the settings.ini file found in the TextureTransformerDataG2F_ToG3F folder (if ini file is opened in a text editor like notepad). BUT, that means that gen2 female cr2 saved in Poser will not work. And, messing around with info inside of .ini files is usually not recommended unless you're very comfortable doing so.

So, we are currently working on an update for Texture Transformer and Blacksmith3D that will take both source files into account (which is the same issue with Dawn and Dusk cr2s saved in DS). I haven't confirmed it yet, but this same issue likely the Gen2 male.

Anyway, we hope to have an update out soon that will correct this issue.

Great Bizarro ( ) posted Tue, 15 March 2016 at 7:12 PM

Thanks for the info, will be waiting for the update. I realize you can't check for all contingencies.

NEW INFO on saving Genesis 2 cr2 files for use with Texture Transformer

Please note that the CR2 files must be exported from DAZ Studio or Poser using the base resolution (no subdivisions) AND must use the default UVs created in Daz Studio. The UVs have to be the original DS set and the polygon count has to be the original as well. If the character has a different UV set, then that will generate an obj with a different OBJ file name, in which case Texture Transformer may not recognize the source file or be able to make a proper texture transformation.

Great Bizarro ( ) posted Fri, 18 March 2016 at 5:34 AM · edited Fri, 18 March 2016 at 5:35 AM

How do I determine which character model uses which .obj file if I have both of the obj files mentioned?

On another note, is there any chance of a batch file conversion routine add on? I would like to be able to create a folder full of cr2's and have the batch pick up on the name of the cr2 and create a folder in a designated area then convert and move to the next cr2.

Are there any plans to do Genesis 1 to Genesis 3 and will you be releasing a pack for G3 Genitals (male and female)?

FyraNyanser ( ) posted Sun, 03 July 2016 at 7:04 AM

The G2M to G3M converter is placing the nipples on the torso texture in the wrong place, or it has on the two conversions I tried. These are using Base Male UVs on both models and there are no other problems with the conversion that I can see (all seams match up). I haven't had this problem with M4 to G3M. Please see image attached.

Please make sure that you have the latest version of Texture Transformer and the add-ons. You can download the TT updates from here: https://www.renderosity.com/mod/forumpro/?forum_id=12459&show_faq and any updates on G2M to G3M would be on the product downloads. Please let us know if you continue to have issues.

Thanks, but I can't see the G2M to G3M add-on on that page. I am using Blacksmith3D Pro v6.2.0.0 by the way, and I only purchased it on 24 June so I would have thought it would be up-to-date. I see in the add-on zip that the "S2D" files, etc., are dated 9 Feb 2016. The Blacksmith3D installation files on the page are identical to what I already have. I'm a DAZ Studio 4.9 user so my cr2 files are exported from there.

I would appreciate a reply to my problem above, too. It's nearly 2 weeks now.

Blacksmith3D ( ) posted Wed, 20 July 2016 at 4:22 PM

Sorry, I didn't get the 'ebot' the forum sends when someone replies. Did you use any morphs on the G2M character before you saved the cr2 out of DS?

happyboy1974 ( ) posted Wed, 20 July 2016 at 8:52 PM

You waited 2 weeks, I've waited almost 2 months. A little disappointed I didn't even get a "No sorry, that won't be happening".

Not trying to be a smartass here, Just would be good to be able to create a G3 skin from the "Skinbuilder" G1 skins I make.

Anyway, great product. Hope to hear back.

Blacksmith3D ( ) posted Thu, 21 July 2016 at 4:40 PM

Hello happyboy1974, I think your post to this thread had also come in while there were ebot issues. Sorry about missing your question. No, there are no plans for Gen 1 to Gen 3.

Just for future info, we usually respond faster to emails to info@blacksmith3d.com or by starting a new forum thread. Sometimes, comments on older threads can get accidentally missed.

My apologies!

Sorry for the delay in this. I was away on holiday and just getting back to work. The fix will take a 'wee' bit, but it's on our list to get fixed as soon as possible. In the meantime, you can do a quick fix using the clone brush, in either Blacksmith3D, Photoshop or 2d paint programs by :

  1. Using the clone brush, set the reference point to be the exact center of the nipple as it appears on the TEXTURE
  2. Then, begin the pint stroke by first clicking on the exact point where the nipple SHOULD BE
  3. keep dragging the clone brush around in the same stroke until the nipple has been completely relocated.

Again, my apologies for the delay.
