Description

In 1904, almost 60 years afterward, R.G. Skerrett executed the clearest rendering of the CSS Manassas, the Confederacy's first ironclad ram. Skerrett's accuracy is questionable - most contemporary drawings show two smokestacks - but it's a memorable piece of art. I kept Skerrett's overall composition for the Poser scene but added a few animal elements just for interest. The sailors are M4 wearing Slosh's Navy Uniforms. The dock workers are M4 with the Edwardian Casual Suit. The soldier is Crowfoot's Confederate soldier and the officer Crowfoot's Confederate non-com. The paddle wheeler in the background is the Hankster's CSS Patrick Henry, the rowboat along side is from my Privateer submarine. The dock is from Tansy and the mooring rope is from kawecki's Rope Kit. The smoke is from the Steamworks and water is from Land of the Pharoahs, both DAZ. The heron and swimming gull are from the SRBM shorebirds and seabirds sets. The flying gulls are from the SBRM Flock Formations and Zoe is forever the Millennium Cat.
