What an oddly beautiful shot! For an instant, I thought this was something metallic: I've seen similar patterns on metal, generally pieces of jewelry or some such sparkly thing with multiple metals treated with acids or even dabs of enamel. This is more interesting as it's organic, and it's likely to change. It's so nicely textured and varied. The colors are fantastic: I wouldn't call them creamy, and yet there's that "cream tinged" quality to the ochers and the grays, giving this a nice bit of elegance. Fungi growing on things are always strangely elegant, in that...well...in that mycelial sort of way.
