Description

Hi There =) ! Thank you for the wonderful wonderful comments and favs and likes on my renders.

Story :

This is from the oceanographic research trip we currently on. Day 4. As part of Miho's daily routine, she meditated every day. She had learned and mastered all martial arts in the world from a very young age and as part of that learning and training she had learned to meditate to clear her mind of distractions and achieve inner peace. Miho liked to meditate out in the sun... Soaking up the sun's warmth and energy and at the same time clearing her mind of all distractions. But for the last two days the weather had been a bit stormy and Miho was unable to do her meditation outside on the deck under the sun. She still did meditated in the cabin even under the rocky conditions but I could see see yearned for a clear day to do so out on the deck. I woke up around mid day and found the weather had cleared and it was so peaceful and tranquil around us.... I looked for Miho but she was not in the cabin. So I went up on the deck to look for her. She was out in the front deck meditating under the bright sun. I left her alone and watched her from behind while keeping a watch over the instruments and the boat. But I was sure Miho even in that state was more aware of the surroundings in and around the boat than I was standing there watching her and the instruments. There was a camera in front as well as on many parts of the boat to record the journey and I was looking at her from the feed from the front camera in the handheld monitor I hand with me. She looked so much at peace that I wished I could meditate like her.... With her looking so peaceful, the sun shining so brightly and the surrounding so peaceful and tranquil, I felt I was in heaven.....

About this render :

I have never done a render of Miho with her eyes closed. Earlier on I had serious problems with the rigging of the facial bone movement which would not allow me to close her eyes fully even with the dial turned to max. Also I used to get distortions around the eyes when closed. Though I had resolved them earlier I never bothered to close her eyes for any render. Sitting there thinking what to render I had closed Miho's eyes and she looked so at peace in the render that I took that as the starting point and then came up with the idea for this render. She looked like she was meditating and that is what I went with. Then I wanted to continue on the oceanographic research trip story and so it had to be her meditating somewhere in the boat. So after playing with a few locations I settled on this one. I used ultra wide angles on the camera to get the view you see and also added perspective correction and spherical distortion to bring Miho to the front. Because of that you see the wooden deck appearing curved and also the slight curve of the horizon. Once I was done posing Miho and choosing the camera angle I looked at the scene and thought Miho needed to sit on something as the deck was bound to be hot. So I searched for a towel in my content library and found one that fitted this scene perfectly including the folds lining up with her toes. Of course I would have done it in ZBrush if the towel did not have those folds. But it saved time as I did not need to do anything on it. I did some touch ups to where Miho's shin presses on her ankle to give it a more natural look of flesh pressing against flesh. To pose her fingers, I myself did the pose to see how my fingers would appear and then I posed Miho's fingers on one hand based on that. To get the other hand to have the same pose, I used Edit->Figure->Symmetry to copy the left hand pose from shoulder down to the fingers to the right hand. That gave a nice even pose. Tweaked it just a bit. Then added 'me' at the background looking at Miho and the scene looked complete. Finally I added the butterfly necklace and changes the gems color to match that of the sky and the ocean. One thing to note was the cyan water color was overpowering everything including Miho's skin. Plus with such a bright scene with so much reflective surface, the shadows on her face and neck was getting too dark. So I place some pure white planes just behind the camera to reflect back pure sunlight back onto Miho and that also corrected the influence of the cyan reflected light. Now her face and body looks bright and sun kissed. One other thing, though you might think the thumb and the finger has intersected on both hand, it has not. You can see the delicate touch in the shadow of the thumbs. They lightly touch the fingers. In this render I used a different rendering option than my earlier renders. It's called PMC. I normally use Path Tracing. Just wanted to see how the render looks under PMC as according to Otoy (makers of Octane), PMC produces better and more photo realistic renders. I love this render. This and also my last render are among my all time favorites.
Hope you all like the render ! Rendered in Daz Studio using the Octane Plugin. No post work done. Do click zoom if you can to see the details... Full size 1750x1000. I love the sense of tranquility the scene, her expression and her pose offer. And that eventhough she's nude and ... I still would help her trim the bush (jk).

Though I am more into hyper-realistic and dark images, your style is very unique and one can easily spot you admidst a thousand other artists out there. That's something special and I am really starting to dig your unique way to create your art. Props to you and I do hope we will see more of Miho's adventures! [follow mode finally engaged]

Beautiful work. You've succeeded despite all the problems. I wonder how this would have rendered in Poser 5? Less problems? Simpler rendering engine? Keep up the good work! :-) Nice to see you have her as a permanent figure!
