From about 200 feet over my house...
I shot this sunset earlier this evening with my new toy.... I just got a DJI Mavic Pro - and it's an awesome little drone! It folds up to about the size of a water bottle, so it's really portable and great for when you want to wander off into the woods. I still love my Inspire 1, but it's a whole lot bigger, and is better suited to locations where you can just take it out of the car, and fly. You can just put the Mavic in its bag, and sling it over your shoulder or carry it in your camera bag. The camera is tiny, but still shoots 4K video and 12MP stills in JPG + RAW.
I'll post a photo of it in flight over the weekend. In the meantime, I've got to get back to work on the latest T.N.A. page!
I've got a lot of things going on to prepare for my retirement this fall. I'm soooooo looking forward to it!

Get outta' here! This looks fantastic, Rod! The quality of the image for such a compact device. I mean, I don't know anything about drones, but this is freakin' incredible. And it shoots video too. Absolutely amazing. Have fun with it, my friend, and I hope you're having a great weekend!

Tara said she'll be in you neck of the woods in Autumn, maybe it'll sync with your retirement---that would be a great occasion for a visit! I don't know anything about how you get drone shots, but this is a beautiful shot, with fine proportions, and a big beautiful late day sky. And very flat. (Tara is one of several out-of-area friends who constantly remind me it's "flat" where we live. I mean, some people actually ask me if I can see the Rockies from my high-rise roof. Oh yeah, and Japan and Mongolia and Minsk...) Love the angle on this shot, esp from the road and the lit buildings on its side. I hope this drone gives you years of great photography. And is that a city in the far background? I have no idea where you are in relation to a big city...(KC?)
