Description
Hi.
Some family matters have descended, and a doctor's request that I take a short rest. I will be away from RR for a little bit.
I'd planned to revisit all of you, and will do so when I return.
I appreciate your visits and care every time. With my writing, they've kept me committed, as I hadn't written in some years. Now I'm not going to leave it, and you have helped me make that decision, and I'm deeply grateful. And yes, I'm sending it to editors. You'll know if something happens...
All the best to all of you, and I'll be back soon.
Love and peace,
Mark

very beautiful homes and quality photography

Great atmosphere, depth and lighting in this Chicago apartment front capture. Or are those condos, or even store fronts? Actually, a most somber scene with those heavy shadows. This, along with Illinois' dire woes, adds even more to the poignancy. So, real life interferes again. Sorry to see you leave on your sabbatical, and for how long, nobody knows. Be well, hope things work out for you, and will be awaiting your return.

Love the rich brown & red colors & the way they contrast with the deep blacks...

what a pretty street! I like that each entryway is different. the details and the balance and the order of everything is beautiful to see. the homes and lots on the streets of my city are much more chaotic. take care and be well, I await your return!

A very well kept neighborhood Mark. Clean and area is super with those building designs. Agree with Barb on the different iron gate side entrances. Pretty cool. Would enjoy living in this peaceful looking area. Must be a better part of the city, hope the crime is few here. Great shot my friend.

This is one reason Tara and I have both fallen in love with Chicago. Yes, your colors are rich and yummy. And the blacks are,...so,...BLACK. Crisp, sharp and clear are a few more words that come to mind as I roll around in your photo. See you when you get back Mark. 'til then, take care.

This is a place where I'd take about 3 hours to stroll one block - Take it easy, Mark and listen to what the doctor tells you

Delightfully Beautiful Work,

I am SO jealous! Such character, such color. These are either old buildings in which case I find Chicago's preservation impressive. Or they are modern buildings in which case I find Chicago's dedication to the past impressive.
By now I'm sure you know the drill. Follow doctor's orders. Take things easy. Drive yourself crazy because you have to follow doctor's orders and take things easy. In any case, take care of yourself. Around here you are see as one of the site's treasures.

Beautiful picture, order and cleanliness seem to reign. The same order that you seem to want to put into your life and that I hope you will be wonderful. Your comments are always precious and well done, I like how you write and think, so I hope to see you here soon and often. Sorry if my words are not easy to understand or have a different meaning from what meant in Italian, I hope you can appreciate it anyway.

That architecture has a lot of character and makes beautiful neighborhoods.

Who wouldn't like to live on a beautiful street like this one ? the apartments appear to be in very good condition, well maintained and in such good order, so now I'm wondering how old they are ? ~ I also noticed, that practically all entrances are different from each other, some are even different building materials... and it doesn't stop there, those rich colours ranging from black to browns/burgundy/terracotta/beige and pink - stunning ! then there are many textures - so organic looking, topped off by some green, supplied by Mother Nature... all in all, Chicago shows us another side and it's quite debonair.
Have a little break, as recommended by your Doctor, recharge your batteries - and take a good rest Mark ! - perhaps even take a real holiday, or go on a ships-cruise to Hawaii and why not ? A change of scenery will definitely help, to get you back to good health and see everything in a new light, when you return...

A very beautiful shot with such fascinating architecture. I hope you have a nice time with family and follow doctor's orders. You are an extremely gifted writer, Mark, and I'm so happy to hear you are encouraged to keep going and keep submitting. My daughter will be arriving on Thurs for her annual July 4th visit. Take care, my friend.

What a wonderful shot of your neighborhood. I love the deep red bricks, the black shiny iron fences, so well cared for and the porches. A quiet and beautiful street. Also I came to love Chicago, by all your fabulous photos I have seen over the many years, you have been my dear friend. Mark, I am so glad you will continue writing, because that is what makes you happy and I hope the break from RR will give you the rest, you need. Take care of yourself til you will be back again, my friend.

What a wonderful street scene, Mark! I love to warm, earthy tones of the buildings. Everything looks so clean and well maintained. And you seem to invite us into the photo with the great leading lines. Superb!
Get some rest, take care of the family, and follow the doctor's orders, my friend! Don't make me send the Girls over to spank you - although there are some that would enjoy that.....
See ya when you get back!

Let me add my voice to those encouraging you to take that break! Finding balance, no matter what is going on in your life, is key. Something has to take a back seat, something has to be the priority. I know you'll find that balance as you go along.
Pictures like this (as Bill said) are what made me fall in love with Chicago. The Near North Side is a festival, a buffet, an embarrassment of richness, for me. All those gorgeous architectural details! The variety! The casual opulence! Chicago has its own flavor, and streets like this are the yummiest.
Take good care, and take it easy. Much love to you, dear one ...

Beautiful shot Mark.
Take care.

I use a few editors, Scrivener is really good, and Hemmingway Editor is nice and simple for grammar and wordage checks. I've been on break since the beginning of June, it's good to get away from things for a while.

In my mind I see you walking there, in this beautiful street. You'll be upright, stately, proud, at the same time while enjoying the intense, special houses, its character, the colors, the warm glow, and the appearance, you're busy in your mind. Perhaps you're thinking of new stories, or you have your camera, and think of the photo that will be made first, maybe. I would like to walk along with you in this nice, good looking entourage. We could talk a little, very little, but enjoy the calm and the rest. I can only say Mark, listen to your body and do what you feel is the best for your health, soul and mind. You are important, so please do exactly what feels good for you, my friend. LOL, Trump said "America first". You say: "Mark first".
